Join our refreshing approach to childcare. Every week our kids plant seeds, make healthy snacks and learn new countries.

We are a large Licensed Group Child Care facility located in a quiet and friendly neighbourhood setting in North Burnaby near Seaforth Elementary.

We offer care for children for:
- Pre-Kindergarten (all-day, 3-5 years)
- Preschool (4 hours/day, 2.5-5 years)
- Before & After School Care for Seaforth Elementary.

OUR CURRICULUM:

We offer a well-rounded play and learning based curriculum. Our teachers use approaches inspired by Reggio Emilia and Emergent Curriculum. We create unique activities (art, science, math, language) that are personalized to the level of development and the interests of the children we have in each classroom.

EMERGENT ART

Every day, we offer unique art activities that children love to participate in. You will receive their completed work at the end of each week.

SCIENCE & MATH

We create fun science and math activities that teach fundamental concepts in an approachable way.

LANGUAGE & COMMUNICATION

We help children grow their language and communication skills every day through real examples during open play times (e.g. how to share, making friends, expressing emotions, ask for help etc.).

DAILY THEMES

Unique to only Dharma Kids Centre, we cultivate childen’s curiosity through a different theme each day for 52 weeks of the year:

1. Monday: International Day - We choose a new country every week where kids get to learn some fun facts and two words (hello & thank you) in a new language that they will practice during the week.

2. Tuesday: Food Day - Kids get to make their own healthy, plant-based snack following a simple and yummy recipe.

3. Wednesday: Plant Day - We choose a new seed or gardening activity each week so kids get to learn about what’s involved in growing flowers and even their own fruits and veggies.

4. Thursday: Animal Day - We learn about the national animal of the same country chosen on Monday.

5. Friday: Me Day - A day of favourites! We ask a different question each week like what is your favourite ice cream or movie.
